If you enjoy really good contestants on "Jeopardy," set the DVR for this week.
Today's champion was a grad student from California named Larissa Kelly, who racked up an amazing $45,200 in one day. She's the most soft-spoken contestant I've ever seen on the show, but she's gutsy, too. She wagered $8,000 on a Daily Double in a General Science category ("The IRAS telescope, which revealed 5 new comets, made its observations in this part of the light spectrum") and then $7,000 on a DD in Shakespearean Phrases ("A wife tries to console her husband in this tragedy by telling him, 'What's done is done'") and nailed both of them.
Whether she'll be the female Ken Jennings remains to be seen (she only has to win 74 more times to be in his league), but she's certainly impressive. Interestingly, Larissa's sister Adrianna was a "Jeopardy" contestant just a few months ago.
FYI, the Daily Double answers were "What is infrared?" and "What is Macbeth?"

She is absolutely adorable. It was amazing to see her run away with the game. Hopefully she has a long, successful run. We haven't seen those in awhile.
Her husband was on the show too, but lost to Ken Jennings.
She was excellent though; hopefully she'll be around for a while.
She is adorable. I watched yesterday and today. She is the most impressive contestant I've seen in a while. And I'm saying that while one of my fellow graduates just won the college championship! I was proud of him, but her gameplay is simply amazing.
It was great to see a yougn, sweet person do so fantastic. I can't wait to see her again this evening.

Larissa Kelly has GOT to be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen on Jeopardy, and she's so sweet and soft-spoken, and brilliant! She's the perfect woman! And GORGEOUS!
She was my roommate for two years in college and I can vouch for the fact that she is absolutely brilliant and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Such success could not happen to a better or more deserving person.
Larrisa Kelly is one smart young lady, and I hope she continues to keep winning, and yes, she is one very pretty and gorgeous lady, but what makes her interesting, is how much she wages when she gets a "Daily Double," and also for the final Jeopardy category. I kind of doubt that she will be the so called female version of Ken Jennings, but she may indeed go much farther than many contestants lately with winning now for over a week. I like this lady, she is one smart woman, and hope she can keep on winning.
