Spinal Tap Unwigged

This year marks the 25th anniversary of "This Is Spinal Tap," the seminal mockumentary starring Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer as a clueless British metal band on a disastrous US tour. Frankly, I can't believe I just explained the movie, because if you don't know it, you won't care about this bit of news: the trio are going back on the road next month.

It won't technically be a Tap tour, but Guest/McKean/Shearer will do some of those songs ("Big Bottom," "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight") and some they did as The Folksmen in "A Mighty Wind." Unfortunately, the six-week tour -- entitled Unwigged & Unplugged -- isn't coming to St. Louis, but you can find the dates and ticket info here.

They have reunited as Spinal Tap before, including a short film with director Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner) for the Live Earth concerts in July, 2007...
