Drawbridge Too Far

That's a car that was in the middle of a drawbridge in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, when it began opening. How did the driver get in there with the gates down? How did she hang on until the bridge tender noticed and lowered the bridge? Those questions haven't been answered yet, because she drove off as soon as vertical returned to horizontal.

By the way, notice that she's pointing downhill, which makes you wonder why she couldn't just keep going once the drawbridge started opening and get off there before the incline got too steep. Ideas, anyone?
