Space In Your Face

A collection of over a thousand photographs taken from space will be auctioned tomorrow, including Buzz Aldrin's "first selfie ever" (above), Ed White's first spacewalk ever, shots of the moon from the Apollo missions, and more. Here's a slideshow of just a few of those historic pictures. Remember that all of these were shot with film cameras, so the astronauts had no way of knowing how the pictures looked until they returned to Earth and the film was developed by NASA engineers -- or some young clerk in a Fotomat booth in Houston.
