A study in the American Heart Journal says that praying for someone when they're sick does absolutely no good at all -- in fact, it may be harmful. It's summarized on this site, which quotes some critics of the study, none of whom offers any evidence against it. One psychiatrist, Jon Streltzer of the University of Hawaii, says, "I don't think that science can study supernatural phenomena." That's ludicrous. As James Randi says, "Those who make extraordinary claims must provide extraordinary evidence."
